Tesla Environment Update!
Hey guys, this is my first blog on our new website! I'm Ashlee, the production lead and lead programmer/modeler. Things within our Tesla lab simulator “This May Hertz” have been progressing well. We now have our own YouTube channel for production videos and a dedicated YouTube playlist just for the Tesla Coil iterations. Since my last update, I’ve gotten the Tesla Coil to attach electricity to certain nearby objects and I’ve changed the lighting.

New Lighting
The new lighting affected the way the electricity looked so that was iterated again to look more realistic.

I’ve also started designing the room and doing the first models for the environment to help set the room.

I’ve also recently discovered (thanks to fellow students) that the Steam VR Plugin has more than one default player rig so I switched out the easy-to-find “[CameraRig]” to the “Player” found in the interactions folder which has helped immensely with picking up objects and interacting with objects outside Vive testing times. Things look like they’re progressing well and our prototype should be ready by the end of next week!
